Yakima's Thanksgiving Weekend Starts Wednesday, and Its Evenings Belong to Downtown

October 29, 2026

On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, Wilridge Vineyard, Winery and Distillery opens its tasting room at noon at 102 Wilridge Way, on Naches Heights above Yakima. Its usual schedule runs Friday through Sunday, so the extra day is a holiday addition. Visitors will find wine flights, harvest and holiday cocktails, pie, charcuterie, wine gift packs, a heated porch and the distillery room.

That Wednesday opening is the first sign that Thanksgiving weekend 2026 in Yakima lasts five days, from November 25 through November 29. Thanksgiving morning belongs to the Greenway. From Friday on, the wineries around the valley take the afternoons and close by late afternoon, and the evenings move to one downtown block. The last day doubles as a seasonal handoff, because at least one winery calls it the end of regular tastings for the year.

Wednesday on Naches Heights, before the kitchen takes over

Wilridge's Thanksgiving in Wine Country listing gives these holiday hours:

  • Wednesday, Nov. 25: noon to 6 p.m.
  • Thursday, Nov. 26: closed for Thanksgiving
  • Friday, Nov. 27 and Saturday, Nov. 28: noon to 6 p.m.
  • Sunday, Nov. 29: noon to 5 p.m.

Bosma Estate Winery in Outlook also opens on Wednesdays under its winter hours, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wilridge's added Wednesday is the closer option for anyone staying in Yakima, which makes it the easy answer when family arrives a day early and someone needs to get them out of the house while the pies cool. The listing doesn't mention prices or reservations, and Wilridge's own visit page says you can text to set up an appointment.

Thursday morning is a 5K at Sarg Hubbard Park

The Yakima Greenway Turkey Trot starts at 9 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day at Sarg Hubbard Park, 111 S. 18th St. It is a 5K fun run that benefits the Yakima Greenway and Camp Prime Time.

Preregistration $12
Race-day registration $20
Pets Welcome on a leash

Registering ahead costs $8 less than signing up at the park that morning. The Greenway's Turkey Trot page links to the registration portal, which asks you to sign in or create an account. No preregistration deadline or packet pickup details have been posted yet, so check the page again closer to the day.

Sarg Hubbard is also where the Greenway added new lighting this fall. The Trot runs in daylight, but a Wednesday-evening practice loop the night before can now happen after dark.

Friday through Sunday, the valley's tasting day ends by 6 p.m.

Thanksgiving in Wine Country runs November 27 through 29 across Yakima, Zillah, Prosser, Wapato and Benton City. Visit Yakima's event page describes mulled wine, limited releases, holiday pairings and bottle and case discounts. That page lists only members of Yakima Valley Tourism, so other wineries may hold their own events too.

The posted hours point to the same pattern. Most Lower Valley tasting rooms close by late afternoon.

Winery Address Days Posted hours What's different this weekend
Fortuity Cellars 160 Lombard Loop Rd., Wapato Sat–Sun 11 a.m.–4 p.m. Prize wheel for five nonperishable food items or a $5 donation; limited $20 bottles each morning
Paradisos del Sol 3230 Highland Dr., Zillah Fri–Sun 11 a.m.–6 p.m. No tasting fee; 50%-off case sale, dessert wines excluded
Bosma Estate Winery 1000 E. Houghton Rd., Outlook Sat market 11 a.m.–5 p.m. Shop Small Saturday Market with local vendors
Freehand Cellars 451 Windy Point Dr., Wapato Fri–Sun Not posted Mini bries paired with wines; violinist Ava Lin on Saturday
Masset Winery 620 E. Parker Heights Rd., Wapato Fri–Sun Not posted New releases, a limited number of library wines, seasonal specials
Wilridge 102 Wilridge Way, Yakima Fri–Sun Noon–6 p.m., Sun to 5 p.m. Heated porch, distillery room

Fortuity closes first, at 4 p.m., and its $20 bottles are released each morning in limited numbers. If you are building a Lower Valley loop, that makes Wapato the first stop, not the last. Fortuity also takes 10% off snacks and merchandise, or 30% for wine club members.

Paradisos del Sol has the longest posted day of the group, along with the clearest plan for a mixed-age group. Its 2026 Thanksgiving page describes Thanksgiving-style bites paired with wine, plus recipe cards to take home, a vegan mushroom pâté, a cranberry-chipotle chutney and a Pumpkin Paradiso. The winery calls the weekend kid-friendly, with pets and a toy corner.

Bosma's Saturday market is the valley's Shop Small Saturday stop on the official calendar, running 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with local vendors, Bosma wines and holiday gifts. The listing doesn't mention an admission fee. Bosma's event page says general tastings don't require a reservation.

If you're heading farther down the valley, Mercer Estates in Prosser has a weekend listing too. In Benton City, Tucannon Cellars has live music from Calico Bones on Saturday, November 28. For background on the Rattlesnake Hills side of the valley, see our Zillah neighborhood page.

After dark, the pouring moves to 10 S. 2nd St.

Once the valley's tasting rooms close, the listed Thanksgiving events with evening hours are at Kana Winery in downtown Yakima. Kana's Thanksgiving Weekend listing lays out the weekend this way:

  1. Friday, Nov. 27: open mic from 5 to 9 p.m.
  2. Saturday, Nov. 28: Le Vigneron plays from 7 to 10 p.m.
  3. Sunday, Nov. 29: tastings and discounts from noon to 5 p.m.

All weekend, Kana is running rotating discounted specials on 6- and 12-bottle purchases, along with tastings and wine by the glass. Kana's website lists a standard $10 tasting, waived when you buy two bottles. Its regular hours run until 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

A day that starts at Fortuity at 11 a.m. and ends at Paradisos del Sol before 6 p.m. can still finish with a glass and live music downtown that night, and nobody has to drive back out of town afterward. It also answers the out-of-town guests who want something to do on Saturday night of a holiday weekend. Our earlier First Friday walking guide covers the blocks around Kana if dinner comes first.

Downtown gets a preview this Saturday, November 7. The 10th annual Sip and Stroll, a craft beverage walk for ages 21 and up, runs from noon to 5 p.m. Check-in is at the Downtown Association of Yakima office, 14 S. 1st St. Tickets cost $25 and come with a commemorative sampling glass and five tasting scrips. More scrips are $3 each. For the raffle, you need a card with stamps from 12 of the 16 venues and your contact information filled in. Return it to the office by 5:40 p.m., and once staff verify it, it goes into the drawing. The Downtown Association's event page has the details. Venues are marked with sandwich boards on the day.

Sunday, November 29, closes Masset's regular season

For Masset Winery, Thanksgiving weekend is the end of the regular season. Its Wine Club Release Weekend listing calls November 27 through 29 the last weekend of regular tastings for the season. It comes with new wines, a limited number of library wines and seasonal specials. If you want to keep tasting there through the winter, Masset's club page says members usually receive three shipments of three bottles a year and don't pay tasting fees.

Bosma is already on its winter schedule during the holiday weekend, and those hours carry into December: Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. Wilridge also closes an hour earlier on Sunday, at 5 p.m.

The next big date on the Yakima calendar is the Drive-Thru Holiday Light Fest at State Fair Park, December 11 through 20. If you liked the crush and Fresh Hop weekend in October, Thanksgiving weekend is the last good chance to visit many of these tasting rooms before the light fest.

Jeremy and Lindsay at Jeremy Sinnes keep calendars like this one because the Yakima Valley's dates and hours change from year to year. If you're thinking about a home closer to the Greenway, downtown or the Rattlesnake Hills wineries, we're glad to talk through which parts of the valley fit your weekends. Schedule a Consultation when you're ready.
